Mass feeding event of Turquoise Parrots and Eastern Rosellas on the North-west Slopes of New South Wales

This note describes the detection of two contemporaneous mass feeding events a total ~1000 parrots. After report large numbers Turquoise Parrots Neophema pulchella being found on 8 May 2021, next day we encountered flocks totalling ~300 and ~700 Eastern Rosellas Platycercus eximius seeding grasses cattle property North-west Slopes New South Wales. The species, which congregated separately from each other, showed preference for different species introduced grasses, neither had been reported previously in diets these parrots: fed Purple Pigeon Grass Setaria incrassata Premier Digit Digitaria eriantha. Sometime between 10 21 May, event was over, before supply seeds exhausted; nor after has either observed region.
